It is a very emotional and serious documentary, yet also, an unforgettable and heartbreaking documentary that I have research is Flight 93. The documentary is about introducing to the world what actually happened on September 11th 2001 when several flights were hijacked by terrorists and how the brave individuals on board fight back to avoid the plane crash where it was planned to be crashed by the terrorists.
Drama is created through characters in the documentary despite it being a real life story. The audience can easily feel the strong emotions of the characters of how and what they feel being in that flight on that day and being in that situation where they know they will die any minute.
The mode of the documentary is drama because the event on September the 11th is recreated and actors are used with actual facts and real circumstances from the story are present.
Most importantly, the ''story'' of what really happened in that flight remains a mystery because the story in this documentary has been enhanced using fictional and reconstructed inserts. These are often about contraversial and political issues and events.
The mode of address is mainly serious by using fictional inserts and reconstructed actors, the story is made dramatic, yet also, realistic.
Most importantly, the reason why the documentary must be serious is because it’s about the 9/11 attack and by seeing the documentary several views and opinions can be raised about it as viewers watch. Flight 93 is a controversial documentary too.
United 93 has got a wide target audience because everybody can relate to it from young to old as it is such a tragic story that leaves all hearts broken and feel helpless. The target audience ranges from 16-30+ who are from multi-ethnic backgrounds and from any social class. This mainly because it wants to target a wide audience to show the whole world what happened on that day not just to citizens who live in the United States.
