Unit 4: Detailed Audience Research - Focus Group
1) Do you think government censoring on sexually explicit music videos is right or wrong? Why?
2) Recite an article, video or newspaper that you have heard or seen any relevant information about the documentary that I am going to produce?
3) Describe my documentary in four words and say why you have decided to describe it the way you have described my documentary?
From my Focus Group I have obtained important and beneficial opinions of my target audience. Even though, I haven't obtained the information that I wanted to hear from the focus group but it did make me think more about my idea by focussing a lot on how I can make my documentary more appealing and interesting to my target audience. The majority of my target audience stated that my documentary did not really appeal to them because governement censoring on sexually explicit music videos seems very dull to them as they are not interested in the governmental issues.
The critics that I have received are very helpful as it enabled me to improve more on my ideas and make alterations. Over time, through research and planning I could make my idea solid and precise where I knew exactly what to step by step without confusion.
The focus group that I have conducted was very helpful and beneficial as I directed my idea more on what my target audience actually want.
Significantly, the Focus Group alerted me to put more emphasis on the development of my idea for my documentary.
